MSOC: Wildcats Win 1-0 on Senior Day to Wrap Up the 2021 Regular Season.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's soccer team wrapped up their regular season on Tuesday night with a 1-0 win over Morrisville State on the Wildcats Senior Day. The Wildcats scored the go-ahead goal late in the first quarter and held strong defensively to earn their 12th win this season. SUNY Poly finished the regular season 12-2-3. 

 

THE GOAL: 

The game's lone goal was scored in the 40th minute by T.J. Tytler. Abus Mohamed-Ali started the Wildcat scoring opportunity with some fancy footwork. The sophomore burned two defenders on the right side of the box, setting up a cross attempt. The cross was a perfectly placed touch across the middle to Tytler who hit a left-footed shot to the bottom right corner for his second goal of the season. 

 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES: 

  • T.J. Tytler capped off his regular season with his second goal of the season. His first goal was in the Wildcat's first game of the year. He finished the season with five points on a pair of goals and an assist. 

  • Abus Mohamed-Ali had an assist in the game to bring his season point total to 11 on three goals and five assists. 

  • Chase Coluccio earned the win in goal for the 'Cats. He improved his season record to 8-1-1. Coluccio made four saves to earn his seventh shutout of the season. 

 

UP NEXT: 

The Wildcats will host the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Quarterfinal and Semifinal rounds for the NAC West Division. The first round is scheduled for Saturday, October 30th at 12:00 PM and 2:30 PM. The #1 seeded Wildcats will face #4 SUNY Cobleskill in the 12:00 PM game. #2 Canton will face #3 Cazenovia in the 2:30 PM game. The winners of the two Quarterfinal games will square off on Sunday, October 31st at 1:00 PM. All three of the games will be streamed live on the SUNY Poly Sports Network (SPSN).
