MARCY, N.Y. - In what was a thrilling North Atlantic Conference (NAC) matchup between Husson and SUNY Poly, double-overtime was not enough to determine a winner. The Wildcats answered back just four minutes later with a goal of their own. Abus Mohamed-Ali played a ball through from the middle of the field to Festus Alonge who beat the charging keeper with a left-foot shot to the bottom right of the goal.
In the 18th minute, the Wildcats struck again, This time on a free-kick from just outside the 18 on the left side. Payton Bennett played the free-kick to the left side of the box and found Gerry Thermil who headed the ball past the keeper to take a 2-1 lead.
The Eagles would tie the game up with just under seven minutes to play on a hard slide tackle in the box that was called a foul and awarded a penalty kick. Mario Alvarez Salgado lined up to take the PK and drilled a grounder to the bottom right past the outstretched arms of the Poly keeper James D'Alessio.
