MSOC: Wildcats Lose a Close Game to Cazenovia 1-0.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's soccer team lost a heartbreaker on Saturday in their second North Eastern Athletic Conference game of the season. The Wildcats fell 1-0 to Cazenovia, the single goal came in the 24th minute and was unassisted. The loss brings the Wildcats record to 2-1-3 (1-1 NEAC) while Cazenovia improves to 2-4-0 (1-2 NEAC).

NOTABLES:

  • Nathan Laughlin (Cohoes, N.Y.) made four saves in the game. His record is now 2-1-3 this season.
  • Benjamin Alonge (Elmont, N.Y.) took three of the Wildcats 10 shots, putting all three on goal.
  • Jadon Barton scored the only goal of the game for Cazenovia. The goal was Barton's fifth of the season.
  • The two teams had very similar stat sheets. SUNY Poly had took more shots (10-9), and more corner kicks (7-2), but Cazenovia had more shots on goal (5-4) and less fouls (12-14).

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats will travel to Keuka on Wednesday for a 6:00 PM game. The Wolves are 4-4 this season with a 2-1 NEAC record. The last time the two teams met, the Wolves earned a 2-1 win.
