MSO: Wildcats Advance to the NEAC Championship

ABINGTON, PA. - The SUNY Poly Wildcats beat Lancaster Bible in a thrilling 2-1 overtime game on Saturday. The win sends the Wildcats to the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship game where they will take on the host team, Penn State Abington. Abington beat Penn College 3-0 on Saturday to advance to the Championship game. The Wildcats and the Nittany Lions did not meet in the regular season.

Lancaster Bible scored first in the game when Edward Bills netted an unassisted goal in the 33rd minute. Amadou Ndiaye (Harlem, N.Y.) answered with a game tying unassisted goal in the 77th minute. 

The Wildcats and Nittany Lions ended regulation in a tie. In overtime, Austin Plows (Edmeston, N.Y.) was the hero for the Wildcats. Plows scored the game-winning goal in the 97th minute off an assist by Andrew Kessler (Bethlehem, N.Y.). The goal was the second and biggest goal of his career. 

The Wildcat goal keeper Alexander Gigliotti (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) made three saves in the game to earn his sixth win of the season. Thiago Naque got the loss for the Chargers. He made five saves in the game.

The Wildcats will square off with Championship Tournament host Penn State Abington. The Wildcats and the Nittany Lions did not meet up in the regular season. The last meeting between the two teams was in last year's NEAC Quarterfinal game. The Nittany Lions won that meeting 2-1. The Wildcats last win against Abington was in last years regular season matchup. The Cats' won that game 2-1. The Championship game will kick off at 1:00 PM on Sunday, November 5th.
