UTICA, NY – The first official game played in newly minted Wildcat Stadium will be a NEAC Championship Tournament contest between #4-seed Lancaster Bible College and the #1-seed SUNYIT Wildcats. The game is scheduled for Saturday at 11:30 am, and Mother Nature appears to be prepared: forecast is sunny with a high near 50 degrees.
The Wildcats are fresh off their second straight NEAC Regular Season Championship after a 7-0-3 conference record. For the second straight year Coach Peterson Jerome was named Coach of the Year, and sophomore Malick Faye (Bronx, N.Y. / MLK) picked up his second straight Goalkeeper of the Year award, this time adding the Player of the Year award as well to his trophy case. SUNYIT is expecting a great turnout at the new stadium, which features a state-of-the-art sound system and concession area. The full game schedule for the weekend is as follows:
