MLAX: Wildcats Secure Road Victory Against the Eagles.

Bangor, M.E. - The SUNY Poly men's lacrosse team continued their winning ways, defeating the Husson University Eagles by a score of 16-11. Lyle Beeman led the way for the Wildcats, picking up six points in the effort. The Wildcats had six different goal scores, with three of those six scorers registering a hat trick. The win pushes the Wildcats record to 6-2, and extends their win streak to five games.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The game remained scoreless for much of the first quarter. That changed when Payton Thomas found the back of the net with four minutes remaining. From there, the Wildcats would rip off two more goals, giving them a 3-0 lead heading into the second quarter.

The Wildcats would add two more goals early in the second, building a 5-0 lead. The Eagles would show some life, however, scoring six of the next seven goals to tie the game at 6-6. That was as close as the Eagles would come, as just seconds later the Wildcats would regain the lead thanks to a goal from Lyle Beeman. SUNY Poly would enter halftime ahead 9-7.

An impressive third quarter from Luke Taylor helped the Wildcats pull away from the Eagles. Behind Taylor's two goals and one assist, SUNY Poly would find themselves leading the Eagles 13-9 by the end of the quarter.

Behind efforts from Andrew Maycock and Ryan Carroll, the Wildcats would add a few more goals in the final quarter. SUNY Poly would go on to win the game by a score of 16-11.
