MLAX: Wildcats Finish Maine Weekend Sweep With 14-6 Win at Thomas.

WATERVILLE, Maine. - SUNY Poly defeated Thomas 14-6 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) men's lacrosse game on Saturday. The Wildcats dominated the second quarter to take a five-goal lead into the break. They grew their lead in the second half to as many as 10 goals to secure the win. The 'Cats are now 5-2 with a 3-0 record in NAC play.  

 

Thomas got off to a strong start with goals from Timothy Worster and William Heywood in the first quarter, but SUNY Poly quickly responded with two goals from Michael Baker and Lyle Beeman to end the first tied at two.

 

In the second quarter, SUNY Poly took control of the game, scoring six goals and holding Thomas to just one. Payton Thomas and Griffin LaFleur each scored two goals in the third. Michael Baker and Luke Taylor also scored in the second.

 

SUNY Poly continued to dominate in the third quarter, outscoring Thomas 4-1. Luke Taylor and Andrew Maycock both scored for SUNY Poly in the quarter. SUNY Poly would coast to the finish line, winning the game 14-6

The Wildcats will host SUNY Potsdam on Wednesday in non-conference play. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start at SUNY Poly's Wildcat Field. The game will also be streamed live on the SUNY Poly Sports Network (SPSN).
