MLAX: Wildcats Dominate Hilbert in Non-Conference Play 14-2.

HAMBURG, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men's lacrosse team earned a dominant win on Wednesday night over the Hilbert College Hawks 14-2. The Wildcats came out swinging, scoring the first 14 goals of the game. The only scoring for the Hawks was late in the fourth quarter. The Wildcats are now 2-2 this season.

 

The Wildcats opened up the game with four goals in the first quarter to take an early lead. They grew their lead to 8-0 in the second and added another six unanswered goals in the third to take a commanding 14-0 lead. Hilbert scored two goals in the fourth to finish the game down 12.

 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

  • Lyle Beeman had a game-high eight points on four goals and four assists. The four goals, four assists, and eight points are all career highs for Beeman. He also had a ground ball and a caused turnover.
  • Andrew Maycock had a game-high five goals and an assist for the Wildcats. The five goals are a career-high. He also had a pair of groundballs.
  • Jared Harter had four points on three goals and an assist.
  • Payton Thomas had three points on two goals and an assist.
  • Kevin Doyle and Joey Dimaria scored a goal each for Hilbert.
  • Joseph VanZandt earned the win in goal for the Wildcats. He made seven saves on seven shots faced.

 

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats will open up North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play on Wednesday, March 29th at home against MCLA. The game is scheduled for a 6:00 PM start at SUNY Poly's Wildcat Field. The game will be streamed live on the SUNY Poly Sports Network (SPSN)
