MLAX: SUNY Canton Upsets SUNY Poly in the NAC Semifinals 17-16.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's lacrosse team lost in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) semifinal game on Friday night 17-16 to SUNY Canton to end their season. The Wildcats outscored Canton in three of four quarters, but a huge second quarter gave the Roos a three-goal lead and momentum that carried them to the finish line to earn the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Wildcats jumped out to an early lead and seemed to have all the momentum through the first quarter after taking a 5-2 lead. Poly would open up the second quarter with an early goal to increase their lead, but the Kangaroos stormed their way right back into the game with an 8-1 run to take a three-goal lead into the locker room at halftime. The Wildcats needed to come out strong in the second half, but Canton had other ideas. The Roos scored the first three goals of the third quarter to increase their lead to six goals. This deficit was just too much for the Wildcats to overcome, despite going on a 4-0 run to end the third and outsourcing Canton in the fourth, the Wildcats lost the game by one game, ending their quest for a conference championship.
