MARCY, N.Y.- The SUNY Poly men's lacrosse team won their final North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) regular season game against Medaille on Saturday. The Wildcats built up a 9-2 lead in the first half and never looked back. They would go on to outscore the Mavericks 4-3 in the second half. Before the game, the Wildcats celebrated Senior Day for their seven seniors. This year's seniors included Chase LaCava (Jamesville, N.Y.), Parker Naab (Rochester, N.Y.), Daniel Rivie (Ossining, N.Y.), Charles Rosaschi (Highland Mills, N.Y.), Ryan Daucher (Geneva, N.Y.), and Jonathan Sobolewski (Staten Island, N.Y.). All were in the starting lineup for the Wildcats.

PLAYOFF BOUND

The big story for the Wildcats is that with the win, they finish the 2019 season with a 5-2 NEAC record, clinching the #3 seed in the NEAC Postseason. The Wildcats will make their first playoff appearance in the history of the program. The Wildcats will take on Keuka College in the first round of the NEAC Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Wildcats offense was on full display. They scored nine goals in the first half. SUNY Poly had five players record two goals in Saturday's contest. Edward Rosaschi (Highland Mills, N.Y.), Daniel Cuddihy (Eden, N.Y.), Ryan Mead (Churchville, N.Y.), Jacob Elliot (Troy, N.Y.), and Chase LaCava all had two goals in the Senior Day contest.

NOTABLES:

• Shane Wyman (East Greenbush, N.Y.) led the Wildcats with a game-high four points scoring on one goal and assisting on three others.
• Ryan Mead (Churchville, N.Y.) led the Wildcats with a team-high five ground balls while also contributing two goals.
• Both Jonathan Sobolewski and Ryan Mead were 6-11 on faceoffs on the day.
• In 45:00 Charles Rosaschi had seven saves on ten shots.
• Jake Rush lead the way for the Mavericks with three goals and eight ground balls.
• Garrett Caczewski had seven saves on 11 shots during his 22:35 in goal.
• Ben Erickson had the only assist on the day for Medaille.

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats are in the playoffs for the first time in program history. The Wildcats will be traveling to Keuka College for their semifinal on Wednesday, May 1st at 4 PM. The Winner will advance to the NEAC Championship Saturday, May 4th.
