MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's lacrosse team earned a North Eastern Athletic Conference win over Hilbert College on Saturday 13-6. The win brings the Wildcats season record to 5-4 with a 1-1 record in NEAC play. The game was historic as two Wildcats reached career milestones for the program. Edward Rosaschi (Highland Mills, N.Y.) became the programs all-time leader in career points surpassing the record of 108 with his fourth goal in the game. Daniel Rivie (Ossining, N.Y.) became just the fourth Wildcat to join the 100-point club at SUNY poly on his assist in the third quarter. The win over Hilbert was just the Wildcats second win over the Hawks in program history.

RECORD-BREAKING PERFORMANCE:

Edward Rosaschi entered today's game needing just four points to surpass the all-time points record held by Tyler Serva at SUNY Poly. The junior got off to a great start scoring two points on two goals in the first period of play. Rosaschi scored his third goal of the game with five minutes left in the second quarter and scored the record-breaking goal with 2:19 seconds left in the first half. Rosaschi now sits atop the leaderboard at SUNY poly with 110 career points and counting.

MILESTONE BROKEN:

Daniel Rivie also had a historic game for the Wildcats. The senior entered today's game needing just one point to reach the 100-point mark in his career. Rivie would reach the mark with nine minutes left in the third quarter an assist to Shane Wyman. Rivie would score another point in the fourth quarter on a goal to give the Wildcats at 12-4 lead at the time. Rivie is just the fourth player in the history of Wildcat lacrosse to score 100 points in his career. He is also the career all-time leader in goals scored at SUNY poly with 78.

NOTABLES:

• Edward Rosaschi had a game-high five points on five goals. He also had three ground balls in the game.

• Chase LaCava (Jamesville, N.Y.) and Shane Wyman (East Greenbush, N.Y.) each had four points for the Wildcats. LaCava had three goals, one assist, two ground balls, and a caused turnover. Wyman had two goals, two assists, and a team-high six ground balls.

• Daniel Rivie and Ryan Mead (Churchville, N.Y.) each had two points in the game on one goal and one assist. Rivie finished the game with two ground balls. Mead had three ground balls and went 5-10 in the faceoff circle.

• Charles Rosaschi (Highland Mills, N.Y.) had a fantastic game for the Wildcats in goal. He earned his first win of the season, made 11 saves and allowed just four goals.

• Jonathan Sobolewski (Staten Island, N.Y.) had a solid showing on faceoffs. The senior went 8-9 in the game.

• Robert Pollock (Fulton, N.Y.) and Ryan Daucher (Geneva, N.Y.) both had a game-high three caused turnovers for the Wildcats.

• Edward Mathias had a team-high two goals for Hilbert College. He also had three ground balls in the game.

• Joshua Maloney had a solid day for Hobart in the faceoff Circle going 7 - 18.

• Elijah Ryan was the losing goalie for Hilbert. He made 14 saves in the game.

• Drew Werner had three points on a goal and two assists for the Hawks.

The Wildcats will travel to SUNY Cobleskill on Wednesday, April 10th for a North Eastern Athletic Conference game. The Wildcats have a 6-1 series lead over the Tigers with their last loss coming in 2012. The game is scheduled for a 4:00 PM start.
