MLAX: Wildcats Prevail Over Wells 14-9 in a Game Dedicated to the Wounded Warrior Project.

MARCY, N.Y. - The Wildcats men's lacrosse team beat Wells on Saturday in a game dedicated to the Wounded Warrior Project. The game went the way of the Wildcats right from the start. SUNY Poly went up 4-1 in the first quarter, but Wells fought back in the second scoring three goals, bringing them within two heading into the halftime. The Wildcats would score the games next four goals to gain a six goal margin. The Express showed some fight, but ultimately fell to the Wildcats by a score of 14-9.

Neil Nembhard (Commack, N.Y.) had a big game for the Wildcats. He scored four goals and had two assists for a total of six points, the highest point total of his Wildcat career. Neil also had a caused turnover and four groundballs in the game.

Nick DeCrisci (Utica, N.Y.), Joey Beyer (Long Beach, N.Y.), and Tyler Heldt (Cicero, N.Y.) each had two goals for the Wildcats in the win. DeCrisci netted both of the shots that he took in the game and scooped up a ground ball. Joey Beyer had two ground balls and two caused turnovers to go with his two goals. Tyler Heldt had four ground balls with his two goals.

On the defensive side of the ball Ryan Daucher (Geneva, N.Y.) had a game high four caused turnovers and had a ground ball in the game. Regan Seydler (Croghan, N.Y.) forced two turnovers and had three ground balls.

R.J. Ferrucci (Rome, N.Y.) earned the win in goal for the Wildcats. He faced 16 shots and saved seven of them in his 60 minutes of play. He is now 5-8 on the season.

The Wildcats will be back in action on Wednesday, April 20th when they will host Cobleskill at SUNY Poly's Wildcat Field. The Wildcat seniors will be honored before the game in a short Senior Day ceremony. Game time is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
