Brett Gifford Named NEAC Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - Brett Gifford (Cazenovia, N.Y. / Cazenovia) has been chosen as the NEAC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week after a strong performance for the SUNY Institute of Technology Wildcats.  The senior helped guide the Wildcats to their first two wins of the season after compiling nine caused turnovers and six groundballs to lead a defense that gave up single-digit goal totals through both contests. Gifford opened the week with three groundballs and three caused turnovers while also scoring a goal in a 13-8 conference win over SUNY Cobleskill Wednesday before causing a game-high six turnovers to go along with four groundballs and an assist in a 13-7 win over SUNY Canton Saturday.  Gifford has now compiled the second-most caused turnovers in the NEAC with 43 while being fifth in groundballs with 53.
