Men's Lacrosse Four-Game Win Streak Snapped by Keuka

MARCY, N.Y. - Coming off a 4-game win streak, there wasn't much the Wildcats could do against a strong Keuka team on Wednesday night. The NEAC-leading Storm showcased a host of talented attackers, jumping out to a 7-1 lead in the first quarter and taking an 11-3 lead into the half.

Mike Crumlish and Connor Latimer led the attack for Keuka, as the pair combined for 5 goals and 3 assists in the first half.

Keuka faceoff specialist Zachary Koczent aided the Storm by going 8 of 13 in the first half against SUNYIT's Tyler Serva (Chenango Forks, N.Y. / Chenango Forks), one of the rare instances this season where Serva hasn't come out on top of the faceoff battle.

For the game it was Kevin Gardrvits (Glen Cove, N.Y. / Glen Cove) leading the Wildcats with 3 goals and an assist, while Denver Babowicz (Marcy, N.Y. / Holland Patent) added 2 goals and an assist as well.

While SUNYIT defender Brett Gifford (Cazenovia, N.Y. / Cazenovia) didn't have the type of offensive night Wildcat fans have gotten used to seeing, the 5-10 junior got back to his defensive roots with game-highs of 8 groundballs and a remarkable 6 caused turnovers. Gifford is currently leading the NEAC in the latter category.

SUNYIT will look to rebound on the road, as they next travel to Wells College this Saturday for a 1:00 pm match up.
