Men's Lacrosse Fall Season Wrap-Up

Men's Lacrosse Fall Season Wrap-Up

UTICA, N.Y. – The fledgling SUNYIT Men's Lacrosse program wrapped up its non-traditional fall season last week with a scrimmage against Tri-City Lacrosse.

Inaugural Head Coach Tyler Renaud was kind enough to provide SUNYIT Sports Information with the following summary of the team's progress:

"[Assistant] Coach Reisman and I were pleased with the closing of our non-traditional fall season.  It was nice to have a chance to get out on the new turf and let the guys get acclimated with one another.  Our last week was productive in terms of breaking down offensive and defensive schemes and closing out with a scrimmage against Tri City Lacrosse. The game provided us with insights on what we need to work on in February when we reconvene, in particular on defense we need to shore up in front of the crease, and offensively we need to pass and dodge more versus holding on to the ball and trying to get through three D-poles*. Overall, we have a solid nucleus in place and are looking to be competitive in our first official season in the NEAC."

The official start to the Men's Lacrosse program at SUNYIT will take place on February 29th when the Wildcats match up with cross-town rival Utica College.
