MBB: Toure, Rose, Selected to All-Conference Teams

UTICA, N.Y. - Cheickne Toure and Anthony Rose have been selected to the North Atlantic Conference All-Conference team for the 2023-2024 season. Toure was selected to the All-Conference First Team, while Rose was selected to the All-Conference Second Team. In addition to the All-Conference selections, Justin Osmond was the Wildcats representative on the All-Sportsmanship team. 

Toure had a phenomenal year for the Wildcats, leading the team in scoring with an impressive 20.5 points per game, while also serving as the floor general at point guard, averaging 3.3 assists per game. Toure eclipsed 30 points four different times this season, including scoring 33 points against both Morrisville St. and Canton. In addition to his offense, Toure was a hard-nosed defender, who finished in 3rd in the conference in blocked shots. The junior will look to extend his college success next year during his final season with the Wildcats.

Rose found success all over the floor for the Wildcats in the 2023-2024 campaign, averaging 18.4 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game. The forward shot an impressive 50.3% from the floor, including shooting an even 40% behind the three-point arc. Rose scored a season-high 34 points in the second game of the year against Keuka. The 6-5 forward frequently found success around the basket, using his size to his advantage to create mismatches. The sophomore will return next season to continue his success for the Wildcats. 

The Wildcats finished 16-10 overall and 10-3 in conference play, and completed it's final season in the North Atlantic Conference before moving to the Empire 8 next season.
