MBB: Second Half Comeback Lifts Wildcats Over Broncos 72-66.

UTICA, N.Y. -  The SUNY Poly men's basketball team had a strong second-half comeback to beat SUNY Delhi on Tuesday night 72-66. Dylan Ernst scored all 11 of his points in the second half to help lead the comeback effort. With the win, the Wildcats move to 12-7 on the season and 6-1 in North Atlantic Conference play. The Wildcats have now won 6 games in a row.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Broncos would race out to a hot start on Tuesday night, jumping out to a 17-4 lead. The Wildcats' shooting woes would subside around the 11-minute mark as they began to make their comeback with a run of their own. Beginning two Kamryn Comstock free throws with 7:24 remaining in the first half, the Wildcats would score 6 straight points to cut the Broncos lead to 26-20. After back-and-forth play for the last few minutes, the Broncos took a 34-29 lead into halftime.

The Wildcats were able to take their first lead of the game with 14:33 to play in the game on an Anthony Rose layup that was assisted by Josh Ernst. The Wildcats would hang onto the lead the rest of the way, battling runs from the Broncos and making key free throws at the end of the game to lock in the win. The Wildcats received double-digit performances from Anthony Rose, Josh Ernst, Cheickne Toure (game-high 19 points), LJ Randle, and Dylan Ernst.
