MBB: SUNY Poly’s Season Ends With a Narrow Loss in the NAC Championship Game.

BANGOR, Maine - The SUNY Poly Wildcats lost in the North Atlantic Conference Championship game on Saturday afternoon 57-53. The Wildcats led by as many as 11 in the game, entering the halftime break up by seven, but the Husson Eagles fought hard to get the lead back in the second half to secure their ninth NAC Championship in program history.

The Wildcats got up big in the first half, shooting well from the floor and playing solid defensively to keep the Eagles down. Husson heated up in the second half. After going 0-6 from three, shooting 30% from the floor and 43% from the free-throw line in the first, they improved all three areas in the second half. The Wildcats, who played a solid first, went cold from the free-throw line and turned the ball over nine times in the second half.

GRADUATING SENIOR:

The lone senior from this year's team, Josh Gregory, finished up his career as a Wildcat with a NAC Player of the Year award and a NAC All-Conference First Team nod. Gregory finished second all-time with 1891 points and third all-time with 200 three-pointers made. Josh also ranks 2nd all-time in field goals made (659), 2nd all-time in rebounds (905), and 2nd all-time in blocked shots (133). Gregory's efficiency and offensive prowess will be difficult to replace.

The Wildcats will return a great core of young and talented players next season and will look to return to compete for a NAC Championship in 2022-23.
