MBB: Josh Gregory's NAC Player of the Year Headlines Wildcat Conference Award Selections.

WATERVILLE, Maine - The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) announced the 2021-22 Men's Basketball All-Conference Awards on Thursday night. Josh Gregory earned the highest conference honor, the NAC Player of the Year. He was also one of two Wildcats voted to an All-Conference Team. The recipients were voted on and selected by the head coaches of the NAC.  

After a stellar season that saw him lead or be in the top five of several statistical categories in the NAC, Josh Gregory was named the NAC Player of the Year and was an All-Conference First Team selection. The excerpt below is from the NAC awards release: 

"SUNY Poly senior Josh Gregory is the 2021-22 NAC Men's Basketball Player of the Year. Gregory appeared in 25 games for the Wildcats, 13 of which were conference contests. In NAC competition, Gregory shot 50.3% from the field, 78% from the line, and 41.1% from three-point range to average 20.5 points per game and 27.4 points per 40 minutes. He collected 25 offensive rebounds and a conference-leading 96 defensive grabs for a total of 121 rebounds and a per-game average of 9.3. An all-around player, Gregory also tallied 30 assists, 13 steals, and 17 blocks against NAC opponents. Overall, Gregory led the league with 531 points, (21.1 ppg/2nd), 231 total rebounds, 194 defensive rebounds, 185 field goals, and 114 free throws made."

After a great season for the Wildcats, Jesse O'Dell was an Honorable Mention after averaging 14.8 points per game, 6.4 rebounds per game, and 2.6 assists per game in 25 games played. 

LJ Randle was the Wildcats representative on the NAC's Sportsmanship Team. 

SUNY Poly's season will continue this weekend when they travel to SUNY Delhi for the NAC West Quarterfinal and Semifinal rounds. The 'Cats will take on Canton on Friday, February 18th at 7:30 PM. The winner of the game will advance to Saturday's Semifinal game which will tip-off at 2:00 PM.
