MBB: Wildcats Win Third Straight NAC Game 91-60 Over Cazenovia.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's basketball team improved to 7-3 this season with a blowout 31 point win over NAC rival Cazenovia. SUNY Poly is now 3-0 in the conference and is tied for first place in the NAC west division heading into the holiday break. 

 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

SUNY Poly stumbled a bit out of the gate, allowing Cazenovia to get out ahead by eight points in the first five minutes of play but the Wildcats got rolling offensively and ended the first half with a 17 point edge. Josh Gregory and Dylan Ernst each scored 12 points in the first half. The game got out of hand in the second half as SUNY Poly ran away with the game, growing their lead to 31 points, which is where the game would end. 

 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES: 

  • Josh Gregory had a game-high 20 points for the Wildcats. He also had sight rebounds, three blocks, and a pair of assists.  

  • Dylan Ernst had a career-high 18 points in 22 minutes of play off the bench. He also had a game-high four steals, four assists, and four rebounds. 

  • Josh Ernst had 13 points for Poly, shooting 66% from the field. He also had a block, an assist, and a rebound. 

  • Jarrett Wilbur had a career-high 10 points and went a perfect 4-4 from the field. He also had six rebounds, two assists, and a pair of blocks. 

  •  Nate Klein had a team-high 11 points, a steal, an assist, and a pair of rebounds for Cazenovia. 

  • Rashaun Hunter scored nine points for Cazenovia. 

 

UP NEXT: 

The Wildcats will take on the Gettysburg College Bullets in the Bronx, NY in the first round of the Lehman College Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament. The game is scheduled for a 4:00 PM tip-off.
