MBB: First Career Triple-Double by O’Dell Helps Wildcats Win on the Road.

MARCY, N.Y. - Outstanding performances by Jesse O'Dell and Josh Gregory on Tuesday night helped the Wildcats earn a 13 point win on the road over the SUNY Plattsburgh Cardinals. O'Dell had his first career triple-double and Gregory had his best scoring output of the season. The Wildcats won the game 92-79, improving to 2-2 on the year. 

 

BIG-TIME PERFORMANCES: 

Jesse O'Dell had the best game of his career against the Cardinals on Tuesday. O'Dell filled up the stat sheet, recording the first triple-double of his career. He scored 23 points on 85% shooting from the field (11-13). The big-man also played the role of facilitator with a game-high 11 assists. He completed his triple-double doing what he does best, cleaning up on the boards. O'Dell tied the game-high with 12 rebounds, three of which were on the offensive glass. His final stat line was an impressive 23 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists, and a steal. 

 

Josh Gregory had his best game of the 2021-22 season. "Jiggy" dropped a game and season-high 31 points on 11-18 shooting from the field. He went a perfect 4-4 from the charity stripe and drained a season-best five 3-pointers. He also had 12 rebounds to record his second double-double of the season and a game-high three blocks. 

 

NOTABLE STATS: 

  • Jesse O'Dell had a 23 point, 12 rebound, 11 assist triple-double. The first of his career. 

  • Josh Gregory had a 31 point, 12 rebound double-double. His second this season. 

  • LJ Randle had nine points, two steals, two assists, and three rebounds for the Wildcats. 

  • Sion Nelson had seven points in 13 minutes off the bench for the Wildcats. 

  • Erik Salo and Axel Rodriguez each scored 16 for the Cardinals. Salo had seven rebounds, an assist, and a steal. Rodriguez had five rebounds, three assists, and a steal. 

  • Cameron Ness had a 15 point, 11 rebound double-double for Plattsburgh.

  • Sheriff Conteh had 14 points off the bench for Plattsburgh with two rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocks. 

 

UP NEXT: 

The Wildcats will take on the SUNY Fredonia Blue Devils on Saturday, November 27th at the Harold J. Brodie Tournament. The two-day, four-team tournament will also feature host school R.I.T. and Pitt-Bradford. The Wildcat's first game of the weekend is scheduled for a 4:00 tip-off.
