MBB: Wildcats Out-Shot by Continentals in a High Scoring Contest.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's basketball team (4-2) fell to Hamilton College (7-0) in a high-scoring shootout on Wednesday night. The Wildcats played with the Continentals for a majority of the game. A few un-timely turnovers led to some big runs by Hamilton that ultimately cost the Wildcats the game. The final score was 112-96.

The dynamic duo of Kevin Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Redell Freeman (Rochester, N.Y.) powered the Wildcat offense. Williams did most of his damage on the inside, knocking down six of twelve from the field for 17 points. Williams also had a team high seven rebounds in the game. Freeman was a threat inside and out, scoring a team high 19 points and knocking down two of three from three-point range. Freeman also had a game high eight rebounds and four rebounds.

Tymeek Mackie (Rochester, N.Y.) and Frank Reali (Staten Island, N.Y.) provided a spark off the bench for the Wildcats scoring 11 and eight points respectively. Mackie grabbed three boards in the game. Reali hit two of three from three-point range.

For Hamilton, Joe Pucci led the way with 26 points, two rebounds and an assist. Kena Gilmour had 21 points, a team high seven rebounds, and threw down a highlight worthy dunk in the game.  Peter Hoffman, Vince Conn, and Michael Grassy rounded out the notable scorers for the Continentals with 13, 13, and 12 points respectively.

The Wildcats will take to the road for the first time since Mid-November to take on the Sage College Gators. The game is scheduled for a 2:00 PM tip-off at Sage College in Albany, N.Y.
