MBB: Williams Surpasses 1,000 Career Points in 89-78 Win Over Cazenovia.

CAZENOVIA, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's basketball team earned its 15th win of the season on Wednesday with a 89-78 win over Cazenovia. The win is the team's 12th North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) win of the season.

Junior Kevin Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had a memorable game. Williams was the game's leading scorer. His 10 rebounds gave him his sixth double-double of the season and his 33 points helped him to surpass 1,000 career points. Williams had 666 points at Tompkins Cortland Community College (TCCC) in his two years and now has 339 points as a Wildcat. Williams is averaging 16 points, 9.6 rebounds, and is a 52 percent shooter in his career to this point. He has had a great impact for the Wildcats this season and will be a big role player going forward.

Peyton Griffiths (Milford, N.Y.) had 12 points in the game. He went 4-9 from the field and had three assists. Josh Gregory (Whitesboro, N.Y.) had 10 points and went 3-5 from three-point land.

As a team, the Wildcats shot 56 percent from the field and 43 percent from three. The Wildcats had 16 more assists in the game than Cazenovia (20-4) and held the lead for the entire game.

The Wildcats will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Bryn Athyn for a NEAC game. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
