MBB: Mitchell Earns Second Consecutive NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week.

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – SUNY Poly's Quayshaun Mitchell (Harlem, N.Y.) has been named the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week after a great performance for the Wildcats at the Cruzin' Classic.

An excerpt from the NEAC's press release announcing the Student Athletes of the Week can be seen below.

"Quayshaun Mitchell (Harlem, N.Y.) repeats as the NEAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week after a clutch performance for the SUNY Polytechnic Institute Wildcats.  The senior forward led the Wildcats to a thrilling 63-61 victory over Coe College Sunday during game one of the two-day Cruzin' Classic being held in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.  Mitchell scored a game-high 21 points on the day, 16 of which came in the second half and his final three points coming on a clutch set of plays to close the contest.  Mitchell swiped a steal with 21 seconds left and the Wildcats trailing by one, before completing an and-1 play four seconds later when he hit a jumper and sunk the subsequent free throw to give Poly a 63-61 lead and ultimately the victory.  Mitchell also finished the win with eight rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block to round out another strong performance after also being last week's NEAC Player of the Week.  The Wildcats improved to 5-3 overall and will close the Cruzin' Classic with a matchup against Wartburg Monday night."
