MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men's basketball opened up their season with a loss on Tuesday to St. John Fisher 100-75. The Wildcats got in some foul trouble late in the game that shortened their bench against a very good offensive Cardinal team.

Peyton Griffiths (Milford, N.Y.) had a solid game for the Wildcats. He dropped 25 points, had two steals, three assists, a block and three rebounds. He shot 9-19 from the field and went 7-9 at the free throw line.

Quayshaun Mitchell (Harlem, N.Y.) and Kevin Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had nearly identical stat lines in the game. They had 17 points each and both had seven rebounds. Mitchell had an assist and shot 3-6 from three-point land. Williams shot 6-10 from the field.

For the Cardinals Keegan Ryan shot 10-15 from the floor for 30 points. He also had 13 rebounds to record a double-double. Alex Sausville had 29 points for Fisher on seven of 13 from the field, four of eight from three, and 11-11 from the free throw line. Sausville hit two deep three pointers in the first half that got the Cardinals going after trailing for the first few minutes of the game.

The Wildcats are now 0-1 overall. For their next game, the team will travel across town on Tuesday November 22nd to take on local rival Utica College. The game is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
