MBB: Wilson's 24 Points Helps Wildcats Earn a Road Win at Berks 81-70.

READING, PA. - The SUNY Poly men's basketball team took on Penn State Berks for the second game of a two game road trip on Saturday. The Wildcats and the Nittany Lions battled back and forth for the first 14 minutes of the ball game, but a nice 13-0 run gave SUNY Poly the lead it needed. The Wildcats would go on to hold the lead to secure the 11 point victory 81-70.

SUNY Poly's Terrynce Wilson (Bronx, N.Y. / South Bronx HS) gave the Wildcats a nice spark off the bench. He led all scorers in the game with 24 points. Seven of Wilson's points came from the free throw line where he shot 77 percent. Wilson added to his scoring outburst by hitting the boards for five rebounds, snagging two steals, and dishing out an assist in the game.

Quayshaun Mitchell (Harlem, N.Y. / HS of Graphics Communication Arts) and Tyler Taverne (Westmoreland, N.Y. / Westmoreland) had 12 points each in the game. Taverne registered a double-double, adding 12 rebounds to his 12 points. Five of Taverne's rebounds were offensive. Mitchell had a well-rounded eight rebounds, three steals, and two assists.

The win brings the Wildcats overall record to 12-11 and their NEAC record to 11-4. The team will travel to Keuka on Friday for their second to last game of the regular season. The game is scheduled for a 6:00 PM tip-off. The game can be watched live HERE.
