MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's basketball team hosted Cazenovia on Wednesday in what turned out to be a hard-fought, physical win for SUNY Poly 87-81. Before the game the Wildcats took some time to honor the two graduating seniors from the team; Michael Boyea (Chateaugay, N.Y. / Chateaugay HS) and Shane Joswick (New York Mills, N.Y. / New York Mills Jr./Sr. HS).

Michael Boyea would end up having his best game of his career as a Wildcat in what could be his last home game at SUNY Poly. Mike put the team on his back down the stretch scoring 23 of his 25 points in the second half of the game. Mike scored SUNY Poly's last 18 points of the game  to secure the win. Boyea shot 64% from the field, went 2-3 from three point land, and hit all nine of the free throws that he attempted. Boyea also dished out four assists, grabbed three rebounds, and had a steal in his game to remember.

Quayshaun Mitchell (Harlem, N.Y. / HS of Graphics Communication Arts) and Malik Johnson (Highland Falls, N.Y. / James I. O'Neil HS) contributed 16 points apiece for the Wildcats. Mitchells stat line included a career high 17 rebounds in route to his fourth double-double of the season. Johnson scored his 16 points on 7-8 from the field. He also had an assist in the game.

With the win, the Wildcats improve to 11-10 on the season and 10-3 in the NEAC. The team currently sits behind an 11-3 Morrisville State team for first in the NEAC North division. The Wildcats will finish their season with four NEAC road games. The team will play at Lancaster Bible on Friday at 5:30 PM. Live video will be available for the game HERE
