MBB: Wildcats Defeat Penn College 88-78. Mitchell With A Career Best 36 Points.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The SUNY Poly men's basketball team took on Penn College on Sunday in a NEAC Conference game. SUNY Poly was trailing through one half of play to Penn, but were able to gain the lead late in the second half and extend it to secure the win. Poly defeated Penn 88-78.

Quayshaun Michell (Harlem, N.Y. / HS of Graphics Communication Arts) shined for the Wildcats. He had a brilliant performance scoring a career high 36 points grabbing eight rebounds, and blocking a shot in 33 minutes of play. He shot 63% from the floor and 71% from the free throw line. His scoring outburst was one of the best for the Wildcats in recent memory.

Terrynce Wilson (Bronx, N.Y. / South Bronx HS) also had a great night for the Wildcats. He scored 21 points, 12 of which came from beyond the three point line. He shot 54% from the field and had six rebounds and an assist. Peyton Griffiths (Milford, N.Y. / Milford Central School) extended his double digit scoring streak to four straight games with a 10 point performance. He also recorded two rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

The win by SUNY Poly brings their season record to 7-8 (6-1 NEAC). The team will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Cazenovia for a NEAC Conference game.
