Maverick Hodge Named NEAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Senior point guard Maverick Hodge (Bronx, N.Y. / Samuel Gompers) was named the NEAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday after averaging a team-high 23 points over SUNY Poly's two conference games this past weekend.

Hodge currently leads the conference in both points-per-game (20.3) and assists-per-game (6.0). His numbers are both gaudy and efficient, as Hodge is shooting 51% from the field so far on the year. Maverick Hodge (Bronx, N.Y.) has been named the NEAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week after a terrific set of performances for the SUNY Polytechnic Institute Wildcats.  The senior guard posted averages of 23 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals per game while shooting 56 percent (18-of-31) from the field during a split in NEAC action this past weekend.  Hodge opened the week with 19 points, five boards and game highs of seven assists and three steals in a win over Wells Saturday before leading all players with 27 points in addition to team highs of nine rebounds and three assists in a 68-64 overtime loss to Keuka Sunday.  Hodge currently leads the NEAC in both points (20.3) and assists (6.0) per game.
