Malcolm Jones Picks Up Another Award After Outstanding Week: ECAC Division III Upstate Player of the Week

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – After taking home an award of the same name yesterday for the North Eastern Athletic Conference, sophomore guard Malcolm Jones (Syracuse, N.Y. / Fowler) picked up an even bigger honor on Tuesday afternoon, as he was named the Corvias ECAC Division III Player of the Week for the Upstate New York Region.

Jones posted a double-double in all three Wildcat contests on the week and averaged 22.7 points, 12.3 rebounds, 2.7 blocks, 1.3 assists and 1 steal per game while shooting 58 percent (29-of-50) from the field. Jones led all players with 25 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks while adding two steals in a 71-67 conference victory over Morrisville State College Monday, before pouring in a season-high 30 points in addition to a game-best 13 rebounds in a 96-89 conference win over Cazenovia College Sunday. He also posted the  only double-double in a 73-64 setback to SUNY Cobleskill Friday night, tallying 13 points and 11 boards in addition to a game-high four blocks. Jones is currently averaging 14.1 points and team bests of 7.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game for the Wildcats, who are now 9-7 in conference play and 12-11 overall.
