Malcolm Jones earns NEAC Player of the Week Selection

GANSEVOORT, N.Y.- SUNYIT sophomore guard Malcolm Jones (Syracuse, N.Y. / Fowler) was named NEAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week Monday after a week of tremendous performances.

Jones posted a double-double in all three Wildcat contests on the week and averaged 22.7 points, 12.3 rebounds, 2.7 blocks, 1.3 assists and 1 steal per game while shooting 58 percent (29 of 50) from the field. Jones led all players with 25 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks while adding two steals in a 71-67 conference victory over Morrisville State College Monday, before pouring in a season-high 30 points in addition to a game-best 13 rebounds in a 96-89 conference win over Cazenovia College Sunday. He also posted the game's only double-double during a 73-64 setback to SUNY Cobleskill Friday night, tallying 13 points and 11 boards in addition to a game-high four blocks. Jones is currently averaging 14.1 points and team bests of 7.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game for the Wildcats, who are now 11-5 in NEAC play and 16-7 overall.
