Kaleel Johnson Earns 2nd NEAC Player of the Week Award

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – SUNYIT sophomore forward Kaleel Johnson (Syracuse, N.Y. / Syr. Acad. of Science) earned his second NEAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week award on Monday, as he was named the Co-Player of the Week along with Brandon Smith of SUNY Cobleskill.

Johnson helped lead his team to a perfect 3-0 record against NEAC opponents with averages of 17.7 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steals per game in just 27.3 minutes per contest while shooting 50 percent (21-of-42) from the field and only accumulating one turnover on the week.  Johnson led all scorers with 18 points while hauling in six boards in an 89-76 win over Keuka College Thursday before recording team bests of 19 points and nine rebounds in an 80-75 win over Penn State Abington Saturday.  He then closed the week with 16 points and game highs of nine rebounds and five steals in just 24 minutes of court time during a 75-59 win over Gallaudet University Sunday.
