Wildcats Come Up Empty in Weekend Road-trip

Aurora, N.Y. - The SUNYIT Men's Basketball team traveled to Wells College on Sunday for game two of their two game  weekend road trip. Unfortunately the game did not go the way that SUNYIT had hoped it would. The Wildcats held a double digit lead going into the locker room at half, but after getting into foul trouble down the stretch, were unable to close out with a W on the road.

After a sound first half, the Wildcats sputtered down the stretch, again losing the lead within the 8 minute mark. Three Wildcats and two from Wells fouled out in the game. The bulk of the Wildcat offense came from T'Andre Richardson (Utica, N.Y. / Utica-Proctor), and Kaleel Johnson (Syracuse, NY / Syr. Academy of Science). T'Andre had 22 points and grabbed a team high 8 rebounds. Johnson registered 18 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds.

E.J. Taylor and Jonathan Hurtado put up nearly 50 points combined for the Wells Express. Taylor had 24 and Hurtado went for 23 on the day.

The win by Wells puts the Express at 8-12 (4-6 NEAC) and drops the Wildcats record to  5-13 (3-5 NEAC). SUNYIT is on the road again on Wednesday (1/30) at SUNY Cobleskill. Game is slotted to start at 7:00 pm.
