Golembiowski Drops 28 Points, Four Wildcats Finish in Double Figures as Men's Basketball Cruises Past SUNY Cobleskill

COBLESKILL, NY – Senior David Golembiowski (Barneveld, NY/Holland Patent) dropped a game-high 28 points and four Wildcats scored in double figures as the SUNYIT men's basketball team cruised past the SUNY Cobleskill Fighting Tigers 72-61 in NEAC action Wednesday night.  The win improved the Wildcats to 7-4 in conference play and 8-9 overall, while Cobleskill dropped to 6-5 in the NEAC and 6-11 overall.

Golembiowski scored 14 points in each half and shot 10-of-17 from the field, including four-of-five from the 3-point line, to help lead the Wildcats to their second straight victory.  He scored four points at the end of the first half during a 9-3 run that helped SUNYIT turn a one-point advantage into a seven-point lead at the break, 36-29.  They would quickly build a double-digit lead early in the second half and never look back, as Cobleskill didn't get any closer than seven points down the rest of the way.

Golembiowski also grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds on the night, while senior Calvin Logins (Lyons, NY/Keuka College) finished with 15 points and eight rebounds.  Senior Kevin Cappiello (Youngsville, NY/Sullivan West) registered 10 points, eight rebounds, four assists and a game-high four steals and Derek Rowe (Mexico, NY/Mexico) went a perfect 5-for-5 from the field to finish with 10 points.
