Men's Basketball Stunned by Keuka College

KEUKA PARK, NY – The SUNYIT men's basketball team had its four-game win streak snapped Wednesday night, as the Wildcats were stunned by the Keuka College Storm with a 70-61 loss that gave Keuka its first conference victory of the season.  SUNYIT dropped to 4-3 in the NEAC and 6-8 overall on the year, while Keuka improved to 1-8 in conference play and 2-11 overall.

The first half was a back-and-forth battle, as the game was tied four different times and six lead changes occurred in the first twenty minutes of action, with the Wildcats having a 35-32 advantage at halftime.  SUNYIT went cold in the second half, however, shooting just 27 percent (9-for-35) from the field, allowing Keuka to take a 44-43 lead with 11:32 remaining that the Storm would not relinquish.  SUNYIT trailed by just three points on five different occasions from there, but Keuka would pull away in the last three minutes of play to secure the win.

Senior David Golembiowski (Barneveld, NY/Holland Patent) scored a game-high 21 points to go along with 12 rebounds and two blocks for the Wildcats, with sophomore Julian Bostick (Utica, NY/Herkimer County CC) adding 16 points.

Teddy Tuggles led Keuka with 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists, while Diamond Booker scored 15 points and grabbed a game-high 22 boards.  Putter Brown chipped in 10 points.

The Wildcats will look to rebound this weekend when they hit the road for a pair of NEAC contests.  They will first take on Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday at 2:00 pm before squaring off against Gallaudet on Sunday at 3:00 pm.
