UTICA, NY – For the second time this season and the seventh time in his career, SUNYIT senior David Golembiowski (Barneveld, NY/Holland Patent) has been selected as the North Eastern Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending January 9.

Golembiowski had a monumental week for the Wildcats, leading them to two conference victories and breaking records in the process.  The 6-foot-7 center finished the week with two-game averages of 23 points, 8 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and 1.5 steals per game while hitting 13-of-15 free throws, which helped the Wildcats secure two huge conference victories over Gallaudet (68-65) Saturday and Penn State Harrisburg (87-82) Sunday.  His point total also helped him become the program's all-time leader in career points, as he needed just six points in Sunday's contest to break the record and reached that mark just five minutes into the contest.

Golembiowski, who is also the program's leader in career rebounds (831), blocks (217) and 3-pointers made (253), has now scored 1,818 career points and has jumped past the mark of 1,800 set by Bob Graham (1984-87).  He currently leads the team in points (21.5), rebounds (9.0) and blocks (2.3) per game.

The Wildcats (5-7, 4-2 NEAC) have won three straight contests and will look to keep the momentum going tomorrow night when they host NEAC rival Wells College at the Campus Center Gymnasium.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
