BASE: Wildcats Drop Both Games to Bowdoin.

Auburndale, Fl.- The SUNY Poly men's baseball took on Bowdoin in a doubleheader in Florida on Tuesday night. In the first game, the Wildcats struck first, but would ultimately lose 11-3, before dropping game two of the doubleheader 6-5, losing on a walk-off single. With the losses, the Wildcats move to 8-5 on the season.

GAME 1:

In the first game, the Wildcats scored first on an RBI single from Ethan Walker that scored Parker Wing. Ethan Merone would join in after, also having an RBI single to plate Ryan Pelton to give the Wildcats a 2-0 lead. In the second inning, Bowdoin would answer back on a double to cut the Wildcats lead to 2-1. In the third inning, Bowdoin would break the game open, however, scoring seven runs to give them an 8-2 lead. They would tack on more runs in the 4th and 6th innings to extend their lead to 11-2, before Ethan Walker hit a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth to give the Wildcats their final run in the 11-3 loss.

Ethan Walker led the way with two hits, while Maddox Garvey and Charlie Leo pitched well in relief.

GAME 2: 

In the second game of the doubleheader, the Wildcats fell behind early before making a strong comeback in the top of the 7th inning. Bowdoin would score one run in the first on an RBI triple from Chris Dirks, before a two-run home run in the second inning to push their lead to 3-0. In the third inning, a sacrifice fly made it 4-0. The game would remain scoreless until the top of the 7th when the Wildcats would score five runs to take a 5-4 lead. In the 7th inning, the Wildcats would receive RBIs from Derek Menechino, Christopher Martin, Kurt Johnson, and Parker Wing. In the bottom of the 7th, Bowdoin would load the bases with two outs before a Reuben Siegel single would score two runs to win the game 6-5.

The Wildcats will be back in action against Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Thursday for a doubleheader.
