BASE: Wildcats Drop Heartbreaker to Gators 9-8.

WATERFORD, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's baseball team dropped the first game of the series to Russell Sage 9-8 on Saturday afternoon. The game included seven home runs between the two teams, with the Gators scoring three runs in the bottom of the 9th to win the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Gators opened up the game with back-to-back home runs, which would be a theme for the scoring on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats would answer with five runs of their own in the third inning to take a 5-2 lead. The Gators would answer in the bottom half of the inning, again hitting back-to-back home runs to cut the lead to 5-4. The Wildcats would get two home runs of their own in the 4th inning with Kurt Johnson and Ryan Pelton joining in on the action. The Gators, however, would score the next five runs to win the game 9-8.

For the Wildcats, Kurt Johnson collected four hits and scored twice, while also driving in two runs. Quinn Hill, Ryan Pelton, and Parker Wing all had multi-hit games.
