BASE: Montanye, Vento, and Morrison Earn NAC All-Conference Honors.

WATERVILLE, Maine - The North Atlantic Conference has announced the Baseball All-Conference Award winners for the 2023 season. The awards are nominated and voted on by the coaches of the NAC and consist of five individual awards, two All-Conference Teams for each division, and a nine-player Sportsmanship Team. The Wildcats had three players earn All-Conference Awards. Jack Montanye and Don Vento were both West All-Conference winners. Zackary Morrison was the Wildcats representative on the NAC Sportsmanship Team.

 

Jack Montayne had a great freshman season for the Wildcats, culminating in a West All-Conference selection. Montayne appeared in 11 games as a pitcher this season with six games started. He had a team-high five wins. In 40.1 innings, Montanye allowed 49 hits and 21 earned runs while striking out a team-high 45 batters. His 4.69 ERA ranked seventh in the NAC this season and he was third in the NAC in strikeouts.

 

Don Vento earned his second NAC West All-Conference Award in as many seasons for the Wildcats. Vento hit .356 in NAC play this season with a .431 on-base percentage and a .400 slugging percentage. He had a team-high 14 runs scored in NAC play with four  RBI and eight stolen bases.

 

Zachary Morrison was the Wildcats representative on the NAC Sportsmanship Team.
