BASE: Wildcats Win First NAC Game of the Season 9-5 Over SUNY Canton.

CANTON, N.Y. - After falling to the Roos in the first two games of the series, the Wildcats bounced back and won Saturday's game 9-5 over the SUNY Canton Kangaroos. The Wildcat's bats came to life in the game recording 16 hits to earn the win. The Wildcats are now 1-7 in NAC play and are 3-19 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Wildcats scored first in the game, plating a run in the top of the first inning when a well-placed groundball by Bradley Dietz scored Don Vento from third base.

The Wildcats added three more runs to the scoreboard in the top of the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Chris Ling, an RBI single by Josh Komacek, and an RBI single by Don Vento.

The sixth inning was another big one for the Wildcats. Bradley Dietz drove an RBI double to left center that scored Alexander Bonacci. Jake Montrose followed that up with an RBI double of his own that scored Dietz. After loading the bases, a clutch single through the left side by Josh Komacek drove in two to give SUNY Poly an 8-3 lead.

After Canton scored twice in the sixth to make it a three-run ballgame, the Wildcats got an insurance run in the eighth when Alexander Bonacci singled home James Lynch to stretch the lead to four. That lead would be safe, as Paul Morgan worked a scoreless ninth on the mound to seal up the complete-game win.
