NAC Baseball has expanded membership and a new divisional format for 2021. Nine teams are divided into East (5 teams) and West (4 teams) divisions, with three teams in the West Division playing in the conference for the first time. SUNY Cobleskill enters as a clear favorite in the West Division, while the reigning NAC Champions of Husson University top the East Division preseason poll.

In the West Division, preseason favorite SUNY Cobleskill collected all four first-place votes and 16 points. Fellow NAC newcomers SUNY Poly (11 points) and Cazenovia College (7 points) finished second and third, respectively, while SUNY Canton grabbed six points for fourth place.

The 2019 NAC Champion Husson Eagles claimed four first-place votes and 24 points to top the East Division poll. Thomas College earned the remaining first-place vote and 21 points to claim second place. NVU-Lyndon is third with 13 points, and University of Maine at Farmington (10 points) and Presque Isle (7 points) complete the poll.

Head coaches voted in preseason polls for their own division.

Teams will play opponents within their division throughout the regular season, culminating in a best-of-three conference semifinal series between the top-two teams in each division. The two semifinal winners will play a three-game series for the conference championship and automatic qualification bid (AQ) to the NCAA national championship tournament. The advancing team from the East Division will host the conference championship series.

The divisional round is tentatively scheduled for May 14-15, and the NAC championship series follows one week later, tentatively May 21-22. Tournament dates are flexible to allow student athletes on advancing teams to attend final exams and commencement ceremonies. Exact dates for the divisional series will be announced after selections.

All plans remain contingent on federal, state, and local health guidance, as well as state college system and institutional realities. The health, safety, and welfare of student athletes, coaches, and entire college communities remain a priority as the NAC returns to competitive sports. Check with each school for policies regarding spectators.
