Albright Named NEAC Pitcher of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Jeff Albright (New York Mills, N.Y.) has been named the NEAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week after a sensational week on the mound for the SUNY Polytechnic Institute Wildcats.  The senior came up clutch in his final start of the regular season, going eight innings strong and giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits while striking out 10 batters and walking two in a 5-2 conference win over playoff-bound Penn College Saturday, which helped clinch the top seed of this weekend's NEAC Tournament for the Wildcats.  Albright also tossed three scoreless innings of relief while striking out two in the Wildcats' 8-5 nonconference win over SUNY Canton Thursday, which left him with a 0.82 ERA and 12 strikeouts through 11 innings on the mound for the week.  The victory left Albright in a three-way tie for the conference lead in wins (5), while he also has the fifth-best ERA in the NEAC at 3.00 for the Wildcats, who finished the regular season 11-3 in conference play and 16-14 overall.
