Baseball Sends Three To All-NEAC Squads

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Baseball Team had three players selected to All-NEAC teams on Tuesday.

The Wildcats were led by junior pitcher Joseph Redmond and senior outfielder Kevin Rowlands, who were selected to the All-Conference 1st Team. It was each player's first all-conference selection.

A strong case could be made for Redmond as the NEAC's pitcher of the year. The junior missed out on the top award despite leading the conference in ERA, complete games, and shutouts.

Rowlands, meanwhile, had a career year. He finished with the second-highest batting average in the conference at .420, and led the Wildcats in extra-base hits and RBI's.

Joining Rowlands and Redmond was another first-time All-Conference player, as senior Ryan Dungey grabbed a 2nd-Team All-Conference nod after a tremendous campaign both in the field and on the mound. Dungey put up excellent numbers batting out of the 2-spot for the Wildcats, while also recording 3 wins on the mound and adding a conference-best 3 saves.
