UTICA, NY – SUNYIT sophomore John LeClair (Mohawk, NY/Cortland State) has been selected to the 2011 ABCA/Rawlings All-New York Region Third Team, which was announced by the American Baseball College Association on Monday.

LeClair, who was also named to the North Eastern Athletic Conference All-Conference First Team, had a sensational season for the SUNYIT baseball team.  The 6-foot shortstop led the Wildcats in almost every offensive category as the team's leadoff hitter, including at bats (117), hits (43), runs scored (33), doubles (11), total bases (54), stolen bases (21), batting average (.368), slugging percentage (.462) and on base percentage (.454).  Additionally, his 21 stolen bases are the second most in program history and placed him 74th in the national rankings in that category.  He also recorded a team-best 13 multiple-hit games and won one NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week award on the year.

The Wildcats posted a program-best overall record of 22-14 this season and took home a share of the NEAC West regular season championship with a 12-2 conference record.
