Today’s Baseball and Softball Road Games Postponed

UTICA, NY – Due to poor weather and field conditions, today's baseball and softball road games have both been postponed.

The baseball team was scheduled to travel to take on NEAC West* rival Keuka College for a doubleheader at 2:00 pm, but the match has now been rescheduled for Friday, April 22 with the same start time.  The Wildcats, currently 8-2 in the NEAC West and 17-11 overall, will now be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to take on SUNY Canton for a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 2:00 pm.

Softball was set to travel to take on NEAC North foe Cazenovia College, but will have to reschedule the match for a third time after their two previously scheduled meetings have been postponed.  The latest makeup date has yet to be determined.

The Lady Wildcats, who stand at 10-2 in the NEAC North and 14-7 overall, are still scheduled to host Cazenovia tomorrow for a doubleheader beginning at 3:00 pm.  The match will be played at Utica's Greenman Field, which, along with Herkimer County Community College's Generals Field, has been the site of all SUNYIT home games this season due to both the on-campus construction of the $20 million field house and renovations to the current Wildcat Softball Field.

*Beginning with the 2010 season, North Atlantic Conference (NAC) members Castleton, Husson, Lyndon State, Maine-Farmington and Thomas will play in the NEAC as associate members in the East Division.  Each division will hold a championship and the two divisional champions will meet for a three-game series to determine the conference champion.  The conference winner will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship.
