NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. - The 28th Annual Wildcat Open Golf Tournament Sponsored by The Celtic Harp went off without a hitch on Saturday, as the threat of thunderstorms never materialized. Under nothing but blue skies and sun, over 35 foursomes teed off at Stonebridge Golf Club with a shotgun-start at 9:00 am.
The tournament, which was aided in large part by major sponsors The Celtic Harp, Red Lobster, Pepsi, Babe's Macaroni Grill and Bar, Anaconda Sports, and Lids Team Sports, also received over $1,000 in individual hole sponsorships, a record-high for the tournament, with all of the money raised going to benefit SUNYIT’s student-athletes and Wildcat Athletics.
The overall winner on the day with a score of 61 was Team Cox, with numerous prizes also being awarded to the winner of the Co-Ed division, Male and Female Longest Drive winners, Closest-to-the-Pin winners, as well as door prizes.
Always one of the most fun days of the year, Wildcat Athletics would like to offer a special thanks to all participants, sponsors, Stonebridge Country Club, and recognizing SUNYIT Associate Athletic Director Kevin Edick for his tireless work in organizing this event each year.
