SUNY Poly Athletics

Daniel Short enters his first year as the SUNY Poly Men's Volleyball Coach for the 2023-24 season. Dan comes from Watervliet Central Schools where he served as the Girl's Varsity Volleyball coach for three seasons. Prior to that, Dan coached the Boys 18U club team for Lakeside Volleyball Club for two years in Burnt-Hills, N.Y. 

Dan grew up in Napanoch, N.Y., and graduated from Tri-Valley Central School in 2013. After high school, Dan attended Mercy College where he obtained a bachelor's degree in health sciences. He then pursued a second bachelor's degree in physical education from Russell Sage College and earned a master's degree from SUNY Brockport to round out his higher-level education. 

Dan currently teaches elementary and middle school physical education at Edmeston Central School in addition to being the SUNY Poly Men's Volleyball Coach.
