NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. – SUNYIT Athletes Chandler Evans (New Hartford, N.Y. / New Hartford) and Krista Pristera (New Hartford, N.Y. / New Hartford) have been selected as the winners of the Northwestern Mutual Student-Athletes of the Month award winners for the month of March.
Evans, a senior for the Wildcats, is currently leading the Wildcats with a .400 batting average, which also places him 7th in the NEAC. A co-captain of the team, Evans also leads the Wildcats in RBI’s and has played error-free ball so far this season at first base.
Pristera, a sophomore for the Wildcats, had a great start to 2013. Playing third base for the Wildcats, Pristera batted .393 during the team’s spring trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., helping to lead SUNYIT to a hot start at 6-2. The New Hartford native also knocked in 9 runs on the trip, a team-high.
