WVB: Wildcats Drop Two at Delhi Tri-Match.

DELHI, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's volleyball team lost a pair of North Atlantic Conference (NAC) matches to SUNY Delhi and Morrisville St. on Sunday afternoon. Both matches were straight-set losses for the Wildcats who are now 2-15 this season with an 0-3 record in NAC play.


MATCH #1:

SUNY Poly – 0

SUNY Delhi – 3

[25-15, 25-16, 25-18]

 

The SUNY Poly women's volleyball team faced a tough test in the day's first match against SUNY Delhi who ultimately won in straight sets. The Broncos secured the victory with set scores of 25-15, 25-16, and 25-18.

 

Brennah Durfee led the Wildcats with four kills and five digs, showcasing her all-around skills. Grace Southwick provided seven assists, and Rylie Reynolds recorded two service aces and 12 digs. Samantha Dee had two kills, one service ace, and 13 digs. Meghan Peek had three kills, an ace, and five digs.

 

On the opposing side, SUNY Delhi displayed a strong offensive performance, led by Stephanie Burke with six kills and Laurel Poston with 11 assists. Chloe Elsenbeck contributed three service aces, while Jaiden Venute had five service aces.


MATCH #2:

SUNY Poly – 0

Morrisville St. – 3

[25-7, 25-12, 25-12]

 

The SUNY Poly women's volleyball team faced a tough SUNY Morrisville team in their second match of the day, resulting in a straight-set loss. The match concluded with set scores of 25-7, 25-12, and 25-14 in favor of SUNY Morrisville.

 

Meghan Peek had a team-high four kills, a service ace, and three digs for the Wildcats. Samantha Dee had three kills and three digs.

 

On the opposing side, SUNY Morrisville's Emily Huppee was a dominant force with 15 kills and a .700 hitting percentage. Samantha Mehler contributed 21 assists and four service aces, while Kayla Sheasby recorded an impressive 13 digs. 


UP NEXT:

The Wildcats will host a non-conference match on Tuesday evening against Elmira College. The match is scheduled for a 6:00 PM start at SUNY Poly's Wildcat Field House.
