WVB: SUNY Poly Drops Three Matches at Wildcat Invite.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's volleyball team lost three matches over two days at the Wildcat Invite. The Wildcats lost their match on Friday night to Saint Joseph 3-0 and their matches on Saturday to Hilbert and Wells 3-2 and 3-0 respectively. The Wildcats are now 0-9 this season.

 


GAME 1:

Saint Joseph (Conn.) – 3

SUNY Poly – 0

[19-25, 25-27, 16-25]

 

The Wildcats were swept in the first match of the weekend by the St. Joseph Blue Jays 3-0. The Wildcats hit .096 in the match while the Blue Jays hit .160 as a team. SUNY Poly was led by Emma Draper and Ryan Fitzgerald on the attack. They each had seven kills. Megan Peek had a match-high 21 digs for the Wildcats. Saint Joseph's Shannon Carey had a match-high 12 kills. Alexandra Long had a match-high five service aces for the Blue Jays.

 


GAME 2:

Hilbert – 3

SUNY Poly – 2

[25-23, 25-21, 15-25, 20-25, 12-15]

 

The Wildcat's second match of the weekend looked favorable for the Wildcats. SUNY Poly jumped out to an early 2-0 lead but fell in the next three sets to lose 3-2 to the Hilbert College Hawks. SUNY Poly was led on the attack by Emma Draper who had 11 kills for the Wildcats. Megan Peek, Brooke Durfee, and Ryan Fitzgerald each had 12 digs in the match for SUNY Poly. Molly Burdick had a match-high three solo blocks for the Wildcats. She also had a block assist. Michaela Bradshaw had 27 assists in the match, a career-high. Sabrina Trimblett had a team-high four service aces for Poly. She also had five kills and a pair of block assists. Jenna Revak had a match-high 13 kills for Hilbert. She also had 15 digs and six aces. Michaela Rice had a match-high 10 aces for Hilbert. She also had eight kills. McKenna Rice had 11 kills for the Hawks.

 


GAME 3:

Wells – 3

SUNY Poly – 0

[14-25, 10-25, 14-25]

 

The Wildcat's third and final match of the weekend was a dominant performance by Wells who won 3-0. The Express hit .289 as a team with 17 service aces. Emma Draper again led the Wildcats with a team-high seven kills. Michaela Bradshaw had a team-high 10 digs and 14 assists. Molly Burdick had a team-high two block assists. Wells was led on the attack by Miah Williamson. She had 11 kills. Lexi Carfi had a match-high five service aces for the Express. Morgan Adams had a match-high 11 digs for Wells.
